Arrive Osaka Itami airport in the evening. Stay overnight at Westin Osaka Hotel.
4/05(mon) Osaka-Kyoto-Osaka
For thousand years, Kyoto was the capital of Japan, full of art, culture, and historical site. Hundreds of temple & shrine in this tiny city and famous for cherry blossom & foliage. Today, we are going to Kyoto for the cherry blossom. Return to Osaka after dinner. Overnight in Westin Osaka Hotel.
4/06(tue) Osaka-Kagoshima-Ibusuki
This morning, we will take the domestic flight to Kagoshima, then drive down to the southern tip of Kyushu Island. A 17-century Lord residence is the first place to visit, and then the house of Samurai. Tonight, we will stay in a beautiful On-sen hotel, not only the gourmet dinner served in the hotel, but the hot spring as well. In Ibusuki, also famous for the sand hot spring, you may laid down and covered with the sand while the hot steam coming up from the bottom of the ground ( at your own expense).
4/07(wed) Ibusuki-Kumamoto
After breakfast, we will drive back to Kagoshima and take a ferry boat to Sakura Island where the volcano is still in active, then heading north to visit one of the three most beautiful castles in Japan, the Kumamoto Castle. Climb up from the narrow ladder, you can view the city of Kumamoto and learn how the soldier defend against the enemy in those old days.
4/08(thu) Kumamoto-Nagazaki-Ureshino
Passing thru Amakusa islands, we will take a ferry to Shimbara Peninsula then Nagazaki. In 1863, Thomas Glover build the first western style house in Japan named Glover Garden where you may overlook the harbor and city. His marriage with geisha becomes the inspiration of famous Opera “Madame Butterfly” written by Puccini. Another tragedy also happened in this beautiful city, the 2nd A-bomb was dropped to the city center on August 9, 1945 and almost swept the entire city. Tonight, we will stay in an on-sen resort hotel called Ureshino, “Ureshi”means “very happy to enjoy this hot spring”, praised by the Emperor when he visited this on-sen.
4/09(fri) Ureshino-Aso Volcano-Beppu
Located in Aso National Park, Aso volcano is the biggest active volcano in the world. If weather permitted, we may take the lift to the peak and overlook the crater. Beppu is famous for his colorful hot spring such as Blood Pond Hell (Red color), Sea Hell (Blue color) etc., the #1 hot spring resort in Japan.
4/10(sat) Beppu-Osaka-Kyoto
We will fly back to Osaka this morning then bus transfer to Kyoto. Enjoy the Cherry Blossom Concert before dinner tonight.
4/11(sun) Kyoto
We will go to those cherry blossom sites where we haven’t visit in our first visit to Kyoto.
4/12(mon) Kyoto-Osaka-Los Angeles
The bus will transfer us to Osaka to Itami airport for departure to LAX in the morning.
